The North Bay and District Humane Society is constantly working on building connections within the community.  We're strengthening our ties with local organizations such as St. John Ambulance and Nipissing University in an effort to raise awareness about animal welfare issues, to increase community involvement and successful animal adoptions, and to heighten respect towards all animals.  Recently, we've developed a new Humane Education program that targets children and youth with animal safety information and pet care tips.  We would also like to begin opening our shelter to the public for scheduled guided tours of our facility, in order to provide an accurate perspective of our work here at the Humane Society. The near future entails presentations and events that can bring the community together in order to combat animal welfare issues in our region. 

Information about events will be posted as soon as we begin to schedule dates, locations, and times.  If you would like to learn more about events, presentations, or shelter tours, please feel free to contact us from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 5:00.  We can be reached by telephone at 705-474-1251, or you can drop in for a visit at 2060 Main Street West.
