The Staff at the North Bay and District Humane Society gratefully accepted more than $1,000 of donations from Canadore students this morning. Students were asked to complete a project for their marketing program, which entailed raising both monetary and item donations. This project was based upon instruction to help out a community not-for-profit organisation and then report about their charitable actions. Two class groups chose the NB&DHS as their focus, and we had the opportunity to welcome one of these groups this morning.
All of the staff are extremely impressed by the students' efforts and results. We thank all of those involved in the project, as well as our community supporters who provided donations.
Thank You.

Our Education and Volunteer Coordinator, Krista, had the opportunity to meet with seven students who are currently attending Nipissing University. Their Residence Don, Patrick, introduced the prospect of volunteering to the students living in his residence.
Students often feel lonely or sad when they are away from their pets. Unfortunately, they are not able to keep pets in the Nipissing Residences. Patrick felt that volunteering with the Humane Society is a great way for the students to be around animals and out in the community. It is a great de-stresser and provides them with the comfort of animal companionship that they may have left in their home town.
We are excited to be adding Nipissing students to our volunteer list, and look forward to their involvement with the Humane Society.
