Our Goal

Every year, the North Bay and District Humane Society admits more than 1,000 abandoned and unwanted animals. Many of these animals come to the Humane Society extremely stressed, suffering from a depressed immune system and are undernourished from a poor diet. Unfortunately, most are never claimed by their owner.

At the North Bay and District Humane Society, our caring and passionate staff work tirelessly every day to improve the lives of these abandoned and unwanted animals with the goal of helping them find a stable, committed and loving forever home.

What We Provide

Housing – Every pet has their own kennel and all pets are provided with fresh blankets and lots of toys.

Nutrition – Fresh, clean water and proper food are basic nutritional requirements. Fresh, clean water is accessible to animals at all times and is changed daily as needed. Food that is consistent with the nutritional needs and health status of the individual animal is also provided.

Safety/Cleanliness – Everyday the entire facility is thoroughly cleaned. The entire facility is equipped with radiant in-floor heating and all rooms are equipped with their own constant “fresh air in” and “used air out” system. The facility is also alarmed and monitored 24/7 for break-ins and fire.

Medical Care – Every pet receives the medical care they require including a general health assessment, vaccinations (including rabies vaccine) and de-worming. All adopted animals are also spayed or neutered in our in-house accredited clinic.
